Our favourite addresses in Les Alpilles

June 2, 2026

What we recommend to our guests.

We live in Les Alpilles. Not just “near” — right in the middle of it. And since Lou Mas was born, our guests all ask us the same question a few days before they arrive: “What would you really recommend?”

The truth is, we have dozens of addresses — restaurants, producers, craftspeople, sites, activities — that we share depending on what each family or group is looking for. A gastronomic dinner for two, a day out with children, a morning at a winery, a secret walk far from the crowds: we have an answer for every desire.

This article is an extract from that notebook — a few of our essentials. Our notebook lives and breathes, just like Provence itself.

What you read here is what we would tell you over a drink, on the evening of your arrival.

At the table

Honoré — Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
The unmissable brunch spot in Saint-Rémy. Generous cooking, a sun-drenched terrace — this is the morning address that pleases everyone, children and adults alike. You settle in, order too much, and stay far longer than planned. Two addresses in Provence: Saint-Rémy and L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Chez Paulette — Eygalières
At Chez Paulette, you don’t go for the menu — you go because it’s Chez Paulette. It is the place to be in Eygalières, the spot where the Provence we love gathers around a table: locals, regulars passing through, the odd discreet celebrity, and a great many people simply happy to be there. The atmosphere is incomparable, the terrace beneath the plane trees is a joy, and just being there is enough to lift your spirits. Booking essential.

L’Oustau de Baumanière — Les Baux-de-Provence
The reference table of Les Alpilles. Three Michelin stars, a terrace facing the rock faces of Les Baux, a kitchen led by chef Glenn Viel who elevates Provençal produce with rare precision and creativity. You go for the great occasions — a birthday, an evening to remember. Book several months in advance, especially in summer. For those who want to experience the Baumanière world in a more relaxed setting, the estate’s bistronomic restaurant is a beautiful alternative — same house, same exacting standards, a freer atmosphere.

Pizza da Peppe — Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
The best pizzas in Saint-Rémy, without question. A wood-fired oven that stands at the centre of the room like a sculpture, a terrace with views over the village rooftops, an Italian team who treat the dough with the seriousness it deserves. Come with family, with friends, late in the evening after a long day at Les Baux. Simple, generous, and never disappointing.

Edù — Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
Set in a former nursery in the heart of Saint-Rémy, Edù is a place apart — convivial, full of life, gathered around a pool beneath green pergolas. A generous Mediterranean kitchen with dishes designed to be shared. The spirit is not that of a gastronomic restaurant — it is somewhere you feel good, eat really well, and keep coming back to. Book ahead.

Not to be missed

The markets — Wednesday and Saturday in Saint-Rémy, Friday in Eygalières
The soul of Provence concentrated into two hours. Saint-Rémy on Wednesday and Saturday morning — both equally lively, both worth the detour. Eygalières on Friday — more intimate, more village, the one we recommend to those who want to escape the crowds while living the real Provence. Flowers, local cheeses, marinated olives, herbal teas, fruit bursting with sun. Arrive early, have a coffee on the square, and let yourself be carried along.

Les Baux-de-Provence
The medieval village perched above the plain, listed among the most beautiful villages in France. The view from the ramparts over the olive groves and Les Alpilles takes your breath away. Visit early in the morning before the crowds arrive — the village regains a calm and a beauty that belong only to it.

Les Carrières de Lumières — Les Baux-de-Provence
In the ancient stone quarries, immersive sound and light shows of rare quality. The works of the great painters projected onto the limestone walls create a unique, almost unreal experience. An evening to plan without hesitation — book tickets online before you arrive.

Glanum — Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
A few minutes from the town centre, one of the best-preserved Gallo-Roman sites in France. Just opposite, the Mausoleum of the Julii and the Triumphal Arch — two monuments that Van Gogh could see from the window of the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum where he stayed. A context that gives these stones a particular dimension.

Our favourite producers

Moulin du Calanquet — Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
A family mill a few minutes from Saint-Rémy, producing an award-winning AOP Vallée des Baux olive oil. The mill tour is fascinating, the tasting even more so. We always come back with several bottles in the boot — it is the Provence souvenir we give most willingly.

Domaine d’Estoublon — Fontvieille
An exceptional estate at the heart of a century-old olive grove. AOP olive oil, wines, a carefully curated shop — everything reflects the exacting standards of the place. The mill tour and tastings are an elegant way to understand why the olive oil of Les Alpilles is unlike any other.

Laurène and Fabien Dumont — Vieux Chemin d’Arles
Passionate market gardeners, Laurène and Fabien Dumont grow organic vegetables of irreproachable freshness and quality. You’ll find them at their farm selling directly on the Vieux Chemin d’Arles — Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday evenings from May to September.

Terre et Blé — Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
Farmer, miller and baker. Five varieties of ancient wheat, stone-ground flour, bread baked in a wood-fired oven. Bread with a story and a character. No fuss — just exceptional bread, brioche, and a custard tart we love. 24 avenue Albin Gilles, Monday to Saturday.

An address we already love

Boulangerie Maneido — Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
In the true spirit of the former Gus restaurant, which had established itself as a local reference address, Maneido carries the same values: authenticity, real flavours, artisanal craftsmanship. You go for the baguette — you leave with much more. Discover it without delay.

These addresses, we choose with the same care as our villas. Because a stay in Les Alpilles is not just about a house — it is made up of mornings at the market, dinners that last a long time, and light you never forget.

The Provence we know. The villas we would choose.
