Fontvieille
This property is perhaps the most authentic place in Provence.
By entering this sumptuous property you will certainly feel entering a world apart. Leaning against the hill, this property has a splendid view over the valley of Les Baux. Whereas when you take the road you will see magnificent neighbouring houses.
This property is nestled in the heart of the Alpilles, it extends over 4 hectares, it’s heaven organised into 4 parts: La Bastide, the adjoining Mas, the Tower and the Grange.
The renovation of this area was done in such a way as to leave its personality and independence to each building. Thus the guests from each part of the property will be able to come together to enjoy privileged moments of conviviality on the terrace or by the swimming pool. You will discover the chic rural life, this magnificent residence will offer you the opportunity to live at the rhythm of a life of Provençal countryside, in all the purity conferred by style and elegance. A clever mix of authenticity and modernity.
Originally, the Bastide was the residence of the owners of the estate. Its architecture offers the opening of this building to outdoor spaces, which offers many possibilities of places to meet for a drink, a party or a dinner around a large table with family or between friends.
You will find on the ground floor a very bright living room thanks to large windows, with a magnificent fireplace. This level also offers a kitchen equipped with high-tech appliances, with a counter extending the central kitchen island into a breakfast area. Each room communicating with the outside, you can access the kitchen from the dining room.
A laundry room and a cloakroom are located near the stairs.
The stone staircase will take you upstairs where there are 3 king size bedrooms, with ensuite, 2 with showers and one with a bathtub. These 3 bedrooms are facing south and allow you to enjoy a magnificent view of the garden and the olive grove. The view extends to the Camargue, a little closer are the massive form of the Abbaye de Montmajour, a jewel listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the slender silhouette of metal and glass of the Luma tower by Frank Gerhy.
The house features:
The Mas is also entirely independent, it was the side of the farm at the origin of the construction of this domain. This part of the estate has its own courtyard with a pretty fountain in the shade of the famous hackberry tree (three hundred year old and protected heritage). As in all Provençal farmhouses, the entrance is traditionally through the kitchen. Absolute comfort awaits you in this one, its renovation has made it modern, with a distinguished style and its equipment is state-of-the-art. Attached you will find a pantry and a laundry room which obviously makes life easier.
The living room is next to the kitchen, it consists of beautiful sofas, a library and a bar, the lamps and other objects add to this space of the house an ArtDeco touch which makes this place perfect for a moment for quiet reading or watching a movie on the TV. Two large French windows from the living room will allow you to reach the courtyard while the third will lead you to a large sheltered garden room which can seat several guests sheltered from the Provençal Mistral.
The floor offers 3 bedrooms, the master has an independent access by the terrace which is behind the farmhouse giving a direct connection to the garden. It is a large bedroom with a King bed, an office area, a dressing room and a shower room. From the window you can see across the courtyard, the hackberry and the tower, to the plain beyond.
The other two bedrooms are located above the living room which you can access by a spiral staircase. Each of the bedrooms has a king size bed and its own bathroom with walk-in shower and WC.
La Tour, dating from the 15th century, was the former post house. These occupants will be in a space independent from the rest of the residence with its atypical charm. The exposed stones of this space will give us the impression of entering another era, but the comfort of the furniture and the decoration will confirm that you are indeed in the 21st century.
The ground floor houses the kitchen of the Tower accessible by a flowery terrace of beautiful roses and rosemary. Once in the kitchen you take a few steps to reach the cozy and comfortable living room with a period fireplace. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms. You will find mullioned windows with interior shutters, old wooden doors, carefully preserved floors, everything is there! From the top of the Tower, the occupants of this room will have the impression of dominating the world with a splendid view! Each room has a king size bed with modern comfort and a bathroom with a shower.
