At the end of a lane, the countryside around Saint-Rémy-de-Provence opens out onto a fully fenced two-hectare estate, where this renovated 350 m² farmhouse stands guard over its grounds. It is a five-minute drive from the heart of the village, yet a world away from the hustle and bustle: the song of the cicadas, the light gliding over the stone, and that rare feeling of having found a place one would gladly keep to oneself.

We love this property for what it manages to combine — space and privacy, contemporary comfort and the soul of Provence. The main house is laid out around two sitting rooms and a large living-dining room, offering a variety of ways to spend the day: a corner for reading away from the heat or watching TV, another for gathering in the evening by the fireplace. The kitchen, the true heart of the home, has everything you could need: an induction hob, a bean-to-cup coffee machine, a wine cooler, a double oven and a double dishwasher. More than enough to cook for your whole family without ever feeling cramped.

Upstairs, five bedrooms welcome family and friends, all designed with the same attention to comfort and tasteful décor: the master suite, with its walk-in wardrobe and full bathroom, and the other bedrooms – all equipped with en-suite bathrooms and storage space – offer everyone their own space. A children’s dormitory, designed with the little ones in mind, completes the floor.

But it is outdoors that the Mas de Terrenque truly reveals its character. The two hectares offer a boundless playground: vast lawns, shaded spots for a nap, a small pond and the feeling that you’ll never come across anyone other than your own family. The 15 × 5-metre swimming pool, heated , stretches out in the sunshine. Nearby, the majestic pool house features a fully equipped summer kitchen—the ideal spot for those long lunches that drift into aperitif time. A large table, pool loungers, garden furniture, a table tennis table, table football, darts and a pétanque court: everything is in place for your days to unfold at the leisurely pace of Provence.

Mas de Terrenque is one of those houses that is best experienced rather than described. You arrive a little tired from your journey, but you settle in within hours as if you’d always lived there.

You’re a 5-minute drive from the center of the village of Saint-Rémy, allowing you to enjoy a stay right in the heart of Provence, with the Wednesday Provençal market as a highlight. Access to the property is via a 1.5 km unpaved road. Also explore other villages in the Alpilles such as Eygalières, Les Baux-de-Provence, Fontvieille… and all the possibilities the region offers: visits to vineyards and olive groves, hiking, cultural excursions…

The Avignon TGV train station is 30 minutes away, and Marseille airport is less than an hour’s drive.
