Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
The happy owners of Mas Prométhée have taken great care to preserve its Provençal authenticity while adorning it with modern equipment.
The mas is the perfect family holiday home. It is located in a beautiful pine forest with direct access to hiking trails and only 3kms from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
This old farmhouse, completely restored in 2010, is nestled in the hollow of lush greenery planted with an olive grove, a wood and a lavender field.
Mas Promethée, which faces south, is arranged as follows:
2 spacious living rooms with fireplace, facing the large terrace with an incredible view of the Alpilles and the swimming pool. The large bay windows in the living room open completely and thus give an incredible feeling of open space to the outside.
A dining area that can be transformed into a billiard room, a high-end equipped independent kitchen offer a convivial and functional space with its central island and a dining table for 10 people.
The 1st floor is accessible by 3 staircases (including an external staircase) and has 6 elegant south-facing bedrooms, too. The view from the rooms is spectacular: the garden and the swimming pool are in the foreground, the Alpilles mountains in the background.
5 of the bedrooms are double bedrooms with king size and queen size beds. The 6th bedroom can accommodate children with 3 single beds. 5 bathrooms complete the sleeping area.
The house features:
The exteriors consist of a large terrace with a pergola housing a dining area for 12 people with a comfortable lounge area. The long swimming pool of 16 x 5.5m is treated with salt. Young people can try their hand at ping-pong or pétanque after swimming.
The landscape in this region is particularly scenic, encompassing rolling hills dotted with picturesque hilltop villages and countless hiking trails, vast fields of sunflowers and olive groves. This region is steeped in history with many sites to visit such as Les Baux-de-Provence is considered “one of the most beautiful villages in France”, Avignon, Arles, Nîmes and Uzès and other towns that you can easily visit in a day, and just a 45 minute drive away and to the east is the Luberon region and further south is the unique Camargue wetland populated by flamingos and wild horses.
