Joucas
Converted from a 18th and early 19th Century hamlet, The Pine House is a haven of peace.
Lovingly restored over many years, the hamlet has stunning south facing views over the Luberon Valley. Surrounded by secluded grounds of 20 acres of which 5 acres are gardens, the house offers complete privacy and luxury.
The accommodation is in two separate houses. One house (dated from 1841) has four bedrooms, each with their own ensuite bathrooms, two with baths and showers, and two with showers only.
The beautiful rooms on the ground floor include a dining room which seats fourteen people in comfort, a small elegant sitting room and a separate study.
Three of the bedrooms are upstairs, and one is reached across a courtyard.
The kitchen has a La Canche cooking range as well as a ceramic hob. It is completely equipped with everything a cook could need.
There is also a separate laundry/utility room in this house.
The outside verandah overlooks the 12m x 4 m heated swimming pool and has panoramic views across the valley.
The two houses are a few metres apart, linked by courtyards
The 1826 house has a double volume drawing room with a mezzanine study, and a large eat -in kitchen. This kitchen is also fully equipped. There is an air -conditioned library with its own bathroom which can be used as a ground floor bedroom.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has air conditioning. There is also a separate laundry/utility room upstairs and a walk -in wine cellar /cold room downstairs.
Both houses are well supplied with everything you could need or want for your holiday. Table linen, bed linen, chinaware, and glassware are all of a high standard.
Both houses have substantial libraries, and good cross section of the latest books.
There is fast internet service in both houses – 40 mp
There is a television in the downstairs study and in the kitchen. More televisions are available if needed.
The blue bedroom and the yellow bedroom in the 1826 house can be made up with a double or with twin beds.
There are cots available- a wooden cot, and a canvas sided travel cot, as well as baby chairs,
and other baby paraphernalia. But please note that the pool is not separately fenced, and that the cover and pool surface alarm are not foolproof.
Also worth noting, these stone houses are two hundred years old, and there are lots of stairs
and steps to navigate.
